Tonight, blogspot readers, it's two shows inside one venue!
Upstairs in the main bar lounge - it was Chords For A Cure charity event while downstairs, local band Hero Monster Zero were gearing up for their Nice To Want EP release show...
Local musicians, bands and fans came together to raise money and awareness for research and perhaps one day a cure for all blood cancers. Lakeview's popular music venue, Elbo Room, was totally immersed into the spirit of the holiday season at this year's Chords For A Cure charity event. This annual event not features local artists acoustically performing but more importantly raises funds for the Leukemia Research Foundation - an organization that's dedicated to conquering all blood cancers by funding research into their causes and cures as well as enriching the quality of the lives effected, blogspot readers.
The music lineup featured rare performances by The Morning Stares and MER who rocked the stage with a lively mix of covers like Seal's Crazy and Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover as well as original songs like Solid Love. Also on the bill the metal band UMF (Unvisioned Music Family) stripped down for their acoustic set and headliner A Friend Called Fire who rocked the stage again with another rousing rendition of Black Sabbath's War Pigs which got the late night crowd singing (and head banging) with the band. Throughout the night there were raffled prizes to be won such as tickets for the T-box Pub Crawl ...Blue Man Group or photography sessions and Starbucks coffee.
The Morning Stares
It was a fun night, blogspot readers, raising money and awareness for a worthy cause.
Until next time, support your local scene,
