21 Jun 19 - Make Music Chicago

Hey, blogspot readers!

It's a bright sunny day ...a perfect 1st day of summer ...and SouthSide is enjoying music in the park.

Today, she took a rare day adventure around town to hear some wonderfully sounding music along with hundreds of others at McKinley Park as well as have the extreme pleasure of seeing world reknown classical musician Yo Yo Ma too!

Joined with a very talented pianist, Yo Yo Ma performed the iconic John Lennon song "Imagine" to a diverse audience ...young and old to which perfectly set mood and feel of what's currently happening within this country. For a tiny moment in time, we were as one being that shining example John had hoped for so long ago.

Sadly, this was Yo Yo Ma's only performance before having to hurriedly leave for his next scheduled stop, blogspot readers. Yet, that was okay with SouthSide because other talented ...not so famous musicians young and old took over the spotlight at the piano and showed off their musical chops.

From simple tunes to "Let It Be" and more, Chicago definitely has some world class talent of it own.

Perhaps, SouthSide just saw the next rock or classical star today...

Until next time, blogspot readers, support your local scene,

15 Jul 18 - George Clinton

"We want the funk..."
Hey, blogspot readers, this lakefront park is one nation under a groove ...getting down for the funk of it!

That's right! To close out the annual food fest known as Taste of Chicago, the godfather of all things funk brought the mothership to Chicago and totally funkified all that attended. SouthSide is speaking about the one and only George Clinton. And it was a beautiful day to get funky in the park. Now, this wasn't her first time hearing and or meeting this legendary artist, blogspot readers. She met him years ago when he was a guest at Fearless Radio. In this reviewer's eyes, this was a celebration of his life and music ...and how it brought together generations, genders and diverse races and colors to jam with him and the mothership who were ready to turn this mother out singing to songs like She's A Freak, Flashlight, We Want the Funk and many more.

29 Jun 18 - Summerfest

Hey, blogspot readers, the word of the day is "water" ...especially when it's a scorcher here at Summerfest. Sadly, SouthSde's time at this larger than life music festival was short but she did have fun (despite the heat and hot sun) walking around the grounds before having to say "good bye" to Milwaukee until next year...

Rock star breakfast!

SouthSide's dream ride - do not touch!

Hawaiian Shaved ice - pina colada

Snack time!

See you next year, Milwaukee!
