Smile …it’s a rock star style type of evening, blogspot
readers …more like Bollywood celebration on tap for SouthSide. Recently, she
attended an exclusive launch party for CaPatel Investments at Grapes &
Grains located at Chicago’s hip West Loop.
CaPatel Investments was founded in 2022 by Anip Patel and
its goal is to invest start-ups by South Asians as well as women and minorities
who aren’t being represented within the investment game and or don’t have
“…proper access to resources or investor opportunities…”. A graduate from DePaul University, this young entrepreneur first
started as photographer snapping photos at weddings and baby showers to which
some of his former clients were in attendance before starting a company of his
own on a 5,000 budget, blogspot readers. During his speech, he briefly
mentioned how he advertised for CEO, CFO, etc though not being able to pay the
half-million salary, Patel gained considerable “free” knowledge and advice from
the applicants he interviewed.
According to CaPatel Investments’ website, he successfully
founded companies ranging from tech to healthcare as well as entertainment and now
is currently seeking out South Asian companies that promote values – Learning, Innovation, Empowerment,
and Teamwork. Besides helping
companies with funding, the CaPatel Investments’ team also supports them with
marketing strategy and sales as well as financial guidance. “…We believe the
future of South Asian entrepreneurs is very bright and we look forward to
supporting the community…” Anip Patel challenged everyone in attendance to meet
at least 5 people tonight ….SouthSide met 6 people, blogspot readers,
exchanging her story on how she started her blogging side gig to each one. For

This celebration had everything. Guests received red carpet
treatment featuring camera-snapping “paparazzi” to make them feel like they’re
celebrities upon arrival. There was plenty of opportunities to meet as well as
mingle and network with CEOs, executives, investors and more from various
business backgrounds.
Lastly, this wouldn’t be a celebratory event if it didn’t
have delectable nibbles and bites for everyone to enjoy, blogspot readers.
There was an elaborate array of charcuterie treats from a variety of cheeses
and meats accompanied with yummy chocolates and fruit pairings. Plus, guests
enjoyed a taste of modern Indian food and pizza like the spicy chicken pizza
from Masala Pizza Company to which this blogger highly recommends sampling when
bored from the traditional sausage and pepperoni pies. Guests were treated to a
special ice blue cocktail in honor of tonight’s event cleverly named Ice Mint
poured through ice sculpture and flutes of bubbly champagne nicely displayed on
a the metal hoop skirt of a Champagne Girl.
SouthSide as always is all about live music, blogspot
readers, and this event boasted some awesome local talent. There was Laura Cai
on the ivory keys playing today’s hits with her powerful vocal spirit to such
songs like Adele’s Rolling in the Deep and Titanium – this acoustic version
thoroughly wowed this reviewer. Laura plays every Thursday night at Grapes
& Grains from 8pm to midnight. To end the night’s festivities,
there was a house DJ spinning dance remixes until the bewitching hour for the party
guests.
SouthSide had a fun time meeting fun, friendly people at the
CaPatel Investments launch party and tasting what modern Indian food has to
offer this budding foodie palate, blogspot readers. This blogger would like to
thank Anip Patel, Founder, and Laura Moran, Executive Assistant of CaPatel Investments for inviting SouthSide
and giving her the opportunity to attend this exclusive launch party at Grapes
& Grains.
Until next time, blogspot readers, support your local scene,
